VILLAGE FLAVOUR
Mike.
Do you have any nicknames?
People just call me Meadus.
What do you do?
Art director, designer, writer.
What would be your dream job?
Art director, designer, writer.
Born in YYC?
No. I’m from St.John’s Newfoundland.
What brought you to Calgary?
Art director, designer, writer.
What do you love the most about Calgary?
Probably location: proximity to the mountains.
How would you describe your style?
Casual; comfort; plaid. Fall weather.
Does anyone influence your style?
Not really, I don’t think there’s any one specific person that I reference. I just like being comfortable and cozy. And plaid patterns.
What’s the latest TV series you binge-watched?
Big Little Lies.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Maui, because it’s my favourite place and I wouldn’t come back. I’ve been there before, and every time it’s hard to leave.
What’s your first or best memory of Village Ice Cream?
Went there for a classic car show. We went on a big cruise and then everybody ended up there at the end of the night.
What location?
Garrison Corner.
What’s your favourite flavour and why?
Maple pecan. It’s just always been my favourite: I love maple syrup, I love anything maple flavoured, and I love pecans and walnuts and anything nutty. Like, pecan pie is my favourite kind of pie, so just anything maple and pecan flavour in it, I just gravitate towards.
If you could share a Village Ice Cream with anyone in the world, who would it be?
My daughter, because she loves ice cream. I haven’t taken her to Village yet, but I plan on it. She makes too much of a mess to go out there, we give her ice cream at home where I can wash her up after. But she loves ice cream and I think she would have a lot of fun there.
