Why Work With Us?

We make great ice cream, but Village has always been about more than what's in the cone. We're a team that looks out for each other, shows up for our communities, and genuinely loves what we do. Sound like your kind of place? We'd love to meet you.

The People

Ask anyone at Village what they love most about working here and the answer is usually the same: the people. You’ll work alongside supportive teammates, good humans, and people who make work feel a whole lot more fun.

Good Vibes

If we’ve learned anything since starting Village, it’s that ice cream makes people happy. If you work with us, you’re part of that happiness. Pair that with great music, beautiful spaces, and an undeniable energy, and you’ve got a genuinely fun place to work.

Community Impact

Serving ice cream. Serving the community. For us, they go hand in hand. So we support the city that supports us, from fundraising initiatives to local collaborations. That’s what it means to be a good neighbour.

FAQs

We’d Figured You’d Ask

  • What is your hiring process like?

Our hiring process varies a bit depending on the role, but all of our interviews are held in person at our Head Office. We love getting to know people face-to-face! For some roles, like our seasonal Scoopers, we host group interviews.

For roles in the kitchen, we may include a short working session (called a stage) so you can get a feel for the role and the team. Management and Leadership positions typically involve a few additional steps.

No matter the role, you can expect a thoughtful, people-first process designed to help both of us decide if it's the right fit.

  • How long does it take to hear back after applying?

We receive a high volume of applications and carefully review each one. While we're not able to reach out to every applicant, candidates who are shortlisted are typically contacted within two weeks of the job posting date via email.

  • When do you hire for seasonal roles?

We begin hiring for our seasonal positions in February each year. Front of house seasonal roles typically run from March through September, while back of house seasonal roles usually run from March through October.

  • What does scheduling typically look like?

Scheduling varies by role and store location. Seasonal Scoopers are expected to maintain 20–25 hours of availability per week and typically work a minimum of 2–3 shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Scoop shifts are scheduled between the hours of 10AM–Midnight daily.

  • What qualities do you look for in a candidate?

We look for people who align with our core values:

Bring the vibes – show up with positive energy!
Care to be great – take pride in your work and go the extra mile.
Teamwork makes the dream work – be a team player, step in to help, and have each other's backs.

  • Are there opportunities for growth within the company?

Yes! We're a growing company and are big believers in developing our people. We focus on both personal and professional growth and we're always looking to create opportunities for our team to take on new challenges.
