Established: 2014. Village Britannia is neighbour to a handful of small boutiques and restaurants, with more small businesses opening all the time.
With ample parking in the plaza, you can enjoy a cone at the shop or stroll over to the nearby Sandy Beach ridge for a double whammy of cones AND Elbow River views. (There’s a secret rope swing too, but we didn’t say anything about that!). Our Britannia shop was named one of the top 9 ice cream shops in the world by Architectural Digest for its interior design. It’s a great hang out spot.

✨Join us in a scoop shop tomorrow on International Women’s Day, 2026! $1 from every cone, cup, affogato, and sundae sold at all 5 Village Ice Cream locations will be donated to @alcoverecovery.
For over 50 years, Alcove has supported vulnerable mothers and their children through one of Canada’s few residential treatment programs designed specifically for women experiencing addiction, trauma, and abuse. Its model allows mothers to stay with their children during recovery, removing a major barrier to treatment and preventing the trauma of separation.
Alcove strengthens families and communities by helping women heal and rebuild safe, stable relationships. Nearly half of the women served are Indigenous, and Alcove is committed to culturally grounded, respectful support that honours their identities and healing journeys.
