Established: 2012. This is our original shop: an unlikely and hard-to-find cul-de-sac where we made our very first batches of Ice Cream.

We have plenty of free parking in our private lot and piles of seating and hang-out space in one of Calgary’s first parklets (story: we converted a bunch of parking stalls into a nice place to hang).

Our outdoor space is the scene of countless wedding photoshoots, unofficial family reunions, run-club and bike group calorie re-ups, and general merry-making. And our hand-painted sign is one of the most instagrammed spots in Calgary!

Don’t forget to peek into our kitchen window to see where all the ice cream magic happens.

🍦MEET A VILLAGER MONDAY🍦

Meet Noor! “I remember when I was still a nursing student at the University of Calgary; as expected, we had many stressful weeks filled with exams and clinical experiences to complete. Even though it was freezing outside, my fellow nursing students and I went to Village to treat ourselves for getting through the week! No matter the weather, I'm always in the mood for the Two Hills Earl Grey.
I was born in Pakistan but moved to Canada at the age of 6. I consider Calgary my home and I'm SO proud to see Village Ice Cream recognizing the need to represent diversity and promote inclusivity!”

Thank you for being part of the project, Noor! 🔥

🍦HAPPY NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY🍦

What better way to celebrate than with a scoop of Salted Caramel! Did you know that its our most popular flavour at Village Ice Cream? We make our caramel sauce fresh in house and churn it with a healthy dose of mediterranean sea salt. Sweet. Salty. And a little addictive.

We want to hear about your favourite Village flavour. Leave them in the comments below!👏

🍦MEET A VILLAGER MONDAY🍦

Meet Josh! “I identify as black, I am half black. It’s a weird middle ground being sort of “in between” but I’ve learned how to love and accept who I am as I’ve gotten older. Growing up in Alberta, I was often told by my peers “well, you don’t act black” or frequently asked, “what are you?” To which I would answer “I’m half black; my mom is English and my dad is African American.” Afterwards I would always ask myself “what is being/acting black anyway? Why does it matter what I am?” I think it is different for everyone as we all go through different experiences in life that shape who we are. Ultimately, I believe it’s about how we process what we’ve been through, how we choose to carry ourselves, and how we treat others around us that should define who we are. Not “what” we are.”

👏👏 Thank you Josh for being part of the Diversity Pint! Now available at all locations!
